Debra (Profe) Urbina

I began my Spanish studies when I was 13 years old, in the eighth grade, in San Antonio, Texas.  I took Spanish 1 and 2 there.  Coming from a military family, I took my third and final year of high school Spanish in Wiesbaden, Germany.  I also studied a year of German while there and then a year of French in Broken Arrow where I graduated from high school.  I majored in Spanish Education at NSU, Tahlequah and minored in French.  Probably the most difficult language class that I endeavored was the advanced English grammar course at NSU!  I love languages, they are alive in many ways and there is always a new word or a new phrase to discover, a new way of expressing just how you are feeling and thinking.

I have been teaching at Union since 2012.  I became Department Chair the 2016-2017 school year.  I believe that Union High School offers an excellent opportunity for students to discover for themselves just how big our world really is and just how exciting it can be to learn about far away places (and some just around the corner!).

You may wish to visit my webpage to check the assignment calendar and student resources.  It is my hope that it will enrich the learning experience for my students.
